At this point in the tournament, half time adjustments can win or lose games. For GRC, they needed to settle down, work on getting some open looks and try to find a way to stop Howell as he had 7 points and 5 rebounds at the half. One way to stop Howell would have been to switch to a 2-3 zone defense as they had in the past two matchups with EGR in which they were 2-0. For EGR, they needed to keep feeding the ball to Howell down low, tighten up on defense and play tight on Jaylin Staten. Halftime adjustments proved to play a huge role in the second half.
