Grand Rapids Christian vs. Northview Wildcats… Preview

     vs.

Friday night the Eagles of Grand Rapids Christian(9-3, 5-1) led by Drake Harris and Kavon Frazier, will put their 4 game winning streak on the line as they travel to Northview to take on the 7-5 Wildcats.

The Wildcats have been on a nice tear of their own as of late, winning three of their last four games with their only loss coming at the hands of undefeated Greenville by just 5 points.

The two teams met back on January 6 inside the Quest Center at Grand Rapids Christian in a game that saw the Eagles put on a dominating performance winning by a score of 71-46. The Wildcats 2 stars Darren Kapustka(GVSU) and Kevin Rich(Davenport), scored 38 of their team’s 46 points as they struggled to find any other offensive contributors. The game proved to be a turning point for Christian High as it was their first home game of the year and since have gone 6-1 after starting the season 3-2. In the game, Drake Harris led the way with 22 points with Jordan Daley and Dwayne Barfield each adding 11. However, this time the Eagles will be without Daley who sustained a nasty twisting of his ankle Tuesday night and it remains to be seen how long it will hold him out of action.

Tomorrow night’s game could also have a huge effect on how the OK-White shakes out. With Greenville leading the way at 6-0 in the conference and having beaten Christian once already, the Eagles are soaring closely behind at 5-1 with a February 10 meeting looming between the two teams @ Greenville. If the Eagles can take care of business Friday night it will set up a classic match up between the top two teams that could all but decide the fate of the Championship Crown.

As for Northview, this will be a game that could catapult their confidence and put them 3 games above .500 and move them one game off second place in the conference. With their two studs, Kapustka and Rich, the Wildcats know they can play with anyone as evidenced by their 5 point loss to Greenville just last week.  It comes down to playing a complete game and putting 32 minutes together… Can Northview do it?

Tomorrow night @ Northview the game will be played and one team will stand victorious. The other will regroup and move on.
