East falls in State Final.

Detroit Country Day controlled the face offs and the game.  The Yellowjacket’s Senior Griffin Hawkins, was outstanding at either getting the ball from the face off himself or flipping it to a team mate.  This allowed DCD to control the ball and kept EGR on defense.  EGR used several different players in an attempt to find a solution, but the results were in DCD’s favor.  The teams played fairly even in the first quarter with DCD leading 3 – 2 at the end of the first twelve minutes.  The Yellowjackets then began to pull away leading 8 – 2 at half and finally winning 13 – 5.
The Yellowjackets started only two seniors Hawkins and Defenseman George McKenzie so they should be a continued power in the upcoming year.  The Pioneers will lose five starting seniors, Drew Condon, Alex Thoits, Andrew Reed, Billy Stewart and Jacob Coretti, but have a way of continuing to reload.
