FH Eastern escapes with crosstown win over FH Central.

The battle between neighborhood schools Forrest Hills Central and Eastern reflected the intensity expected. Besides having personal pride and bragging rights on the line, both teams were undefeated (3-0) coming into the game. Additionally they are two of the better teams in West Michigan.  FHC, the defending Division 2 State Champion, which lost 19 seniors from last season’s team, proved they will again be very competitive.  The game saw FHC jump to an early 2 goal lead with FHE coming back to tie the game at 2 at the end of the first quarter.  Thereafter FHC lead by one or was tied until 10:40 left in the forth quarter.  FHE then took the lead adding the assurance goal at 8:56 left in the game, which ultimately proved to be the game winner for Forrest Hills Eastern 8 – 7.
