The Zeeland West Dux opened up an early lead as they took on in-town rival Zeeland East, but they couldn’t hang on, as they dropped a 44-32 final against the Chix. The Dux started the game on a tear, ending the first quarter ahead by a score of 15-9, but they couldn’t muster double-digit point totals in any of the remaining three quarters. Zeeland East capitalized on the deep shot, putting through six three-point baskets, as compared to only two for the host Dux of Zeeland West. That, coupled with a stifling defense that only allowed 12 second half points, was enough to propel the Chix to an easy victory.
