Point guard Hoskins signs with IWU

Just came in over the wire: Kalamazoo Loy Norrix point guard Jeff Hoskins signed a letter of intent with Indiana-Wesleyan University today.  It’s not originally the path that it looked like Hoskins would take, he at one point had Division-1 schools looking at him, but the star of Camp Darryl Basketball Academy has a bright future ahead of him at IWU, particularly given the word on the street that they’ve handed him the starting spot as a true freshman…

Congratulations! I know he had quite a few D1′s showing him serious interest so why he chose I-W is beyond me. But I am sure he and his family took everything under consideration, heck he is a national merit scholar so I know he is “thinking of a master plan”. Best of luck to Mr. Hoskins :) I wonder how much interest our “Neighborhood University” took in Hoskins? Hmmm.

Yes Big Will is the last KPS player to go to WMU for basketball out of high school that I can think of, things didn’t work out for him there so he transferred to a school in Illinois and did his thing. Played overseas a couple/few years also, he is doing really good for himself now. Thomas Dillard transferred to WMU after things didn’t work out at U of D, but I don’t think he suited up at all at WMU. That is a pretty pitiful track record for WMU basketball and the local scene, with the exception of that Ben Reed, Mike Williams WMU squad I have been less than impressed with the players that WMU has brought in over the past 20 yrs….
