Official Gerry McCaffrey loses battle with cancer

Gerry McCaffrey, longstanding football, softball and volleyball official in the Grand Rapids area, passed away on August 8 after losing a five-month battle with lung cancer.  McCaffrey was fighting an uphill battle since April, as he was diagnosed with the disease relatively late in its progression.  McCaffrey will be missed.  Prayers and thoughts go out to his family from everyone at WMAS.  RIP…
